ROSS MATTESON

I am a professional sculptor and community activist living in Olympia, Washington. In the last 25 years, my love for both humanity and the natural world has been expressed through my sculpture work. These pieces can be found in 16 countries around the world. Making an effort to communicate across both time and culture is one of my goals.

I am a graduate of The Evergreen State College, located in Olympia, WA and have had career paths in both the music recording industry and visual art. My sculpture has been in shown in over 200 exhibitions. The works are in public, private, and corporate collections.

Museums that have featured my work include the Gilcrease Museum (Tulsa, OK), The Woodson Art Museum (Wausau, WI), The National Museum of Wildlife Art (Jackson, WY) the Bennington Center for the Arts (Bennington, VT), the Natural History Museum (London, United Kingdom), the Archives of Falconry (Boise, ID), and The National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum (Oklahoma City, OK), where I have been awarded for two consecutive years. I represent my own work to collectors but am also represented by Astoria Fine Art, a gallery in Jackson, WY.
